Transient Chaise lounge – Cologne train station

Close Minimize

The Cologne train station is a bustling area with people always on the move; it is a transition zone, a place you only wait short times before your train comes, a great place to put your feet up and recline for the few minutes between your work and home lives.

Taking its form from the surrounding arches this non-traditional chaise lounge is created with 35mm plate steel cut, curved and coated in a comfortable dense foam to form the frame,  then set directly into the concrete at the station for stability.

When by yourself you can straddle the frame and recline with your feet up for 5 minutes of comfort. However when you are with others it can easily be use as a bench sitting you or 3.
